Martin's first design was a side-by-side two-seat low-wing monoplane with a Cirrus Hermes engine. The drawings for the M.1 were prepared during late 1929. Engine runs and other ground tests were made on a completed fuselage which vindicated the chosen arrangement; however, the project was not completed due to lack of funds. |
